Foxboro Recreation recognizes that the early years are an important time in a child's life. We offer a variety of quality programs at our recreation centers as well as a many great toddler/preschool programs. Class sizes are limited in order to give each participant the quality of attention you expect.  Activities will enhance socialization, assist in building self-confidence, and provide some educational experience. Our programs are all play based where children will participate in crafts, games, circle time, sharing, creative play, and other activities based on their age.The early childhood years from birth to age 5 is a critical time for developing many important language, physical, social, and emotional skills.Enrolling in early childhood programs gives young children opportunities to practice those key developmental skills. A sports class not only teaches gross motor skills like kicking a ball, but also important social skills like waiting your turn and sharing with others. Art classes are great opportunities to practice fine motor skills by using paint brushes crayons or markers and to use language by sharing ideas with others.All of our preschool and toddler programs are led by Renee and her caring, expert staff who understand early childhood development and design age-appropriate activities that ensure children have the best possible introduction to organized play. Our staff is skilled at easing the transition into participating independently. 
 
1:15 PM - 2:00 PM    Soccer, Pee Wee - Pee Wee Soccer- Spring- SOLD OUT!!
This non-competitive instructional program for 3-5 year olds that introduces new players to basic skills such as dribbling and shooting.  Returning players will have have a chance to improve skills. Players should wear shin guards and sneakers.  Space is limited 
 
6:30 PM - 7:45 PM    Adult Yoga in the Chapel - Adult Yoga
Quiet your mind, refresh your body, and relieve stress with this class with this class led by Diane Lancaster, who has more than 20 years of experience in fitness instruction. Regardless of your physical condition or abilities, learn to increase strength and flexibility through positions, breath work, and mediation. The spring session is 12 week session.If you would like to just drop in to a class it is $12 per class.Class size is limited. Please bring your yoga mat and water.

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM    Ready to Run a 5k? - Ready to Run to 5K
If you’ve ever thought about becoming a runner or running again after taking years off here is your opportunity!  This adult program is designed to get you off the couch or away from the desk and ready to run a 5K (3.1 miles).  In this 10 week program which is catered to beginners you will progress from a walker to a runner.  We will meet as a group once a week and you will be given specific instructions for running other days of the week on your own. Workouts will be followed with stretching and advice about running and nutrition.   Instructor: Nancy Cahalane; certified personal trainer / certified MIAA coach

This program concentrates on teaching the basics of baseball in a fun non-competitive environment.We have two time slots : 8:30 - 9:15am  OR  9:20 - 10:05 am. The classes compete in a "Big Game" at the end of the session!We will be marching in the opening day baseball parade (first day of class).Volunteer coaches are needed.

Athletics for some tennis fun! 5-8 year oldsIntroduces kids to tennis using a foam and/or red ball which is lower compression than the standard tennis ball. Kids will be introduced to the tennis basics with active drills and games, the main emphasis being fun. 8-12 year oldsIntroduce kids to tennis using an orange and/or green ball that have a lower compression than a regular tennis ball. Kids will learn tennis basics that include learning the rules, developing their stroke, and understanding basic concepts with fun skills and drills games.

Add dimensions to your walking or jogging - do you like the idea of hiking but don't want to go alone?  Hiking is fantastic exercise as well as a great time to get some fresh air and explore new places. This class moves at a good pace - we'll be looking for hills! We will meet at various local locations every week (a list will be given out).   First meeting location: F. Gilbert Hills State Forest, Foxboro, Ma. From Norfolk center follow Rte. 115 south toward Foxboro. Stay on rte. 115 (crossing over route 1A at light) and turn left onto Pine Street. At lights turn right onto Route 1. Follow Route one for 1½ miles then turn left at lights on to Thurston Street. Follow Thurston for 1½ miles (pass Normandy Farms on your right).and turn left on to Mill Street. Follow Mill for approx. 9/10 of a mile (passing Chapel Meeting House on your right) parking lot on your right; across from main entrance.

Lizanne Donegan is a resident of Foxboro. For the past twenty-one years Lizanne has taught pottery to adults and children in the greater Boston area. Lizanne handcrafts her pottery at Potters Place in Walpole where she is a long-term member. She is delighted with the opportunity to share her knowledge and enthusiasm of clay with the community of Foxboro by offering classes to children this Fall.  Come have fun with clay! Children will learn to work with clay using hand-building techniques. Create imaginative and varied pieces like animals, sculptures, bowls, containers and many more.Students are encouraged to build on their skills by following class demonstration and developing ideas from their imagination. Children will decorate their work with colored underglazes and glaze

Has your child always wanted to play an instrument? Join Lisa Cohen and learn the fundamentals of playing the UKULELE. No prior musical experience necessary! Children will learn basic chords, rhythms, and strums. Each participant must bring his/her own SOPRANO, CONCERT, or TENOR UKULELE. An electronic tuning device such as a Snark Tuner is also recommended. This program meets on 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, and 6/5 and is limited to the first 10 registered.

Barrie Bruce Golf Schools is a public instructional program focused on those new to the game, seasoned golfers, juniors and adults. He has received numerous awards from NEPGA and a Top 100 Teachers Award for his instruction. Clinics consist of 4 one-hour lessons with each lesson focusing on a specific part of the game. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of swinging with irons and woods as well as pitching, chipping and putting. Barrie Bruce has over 30 years experience teaching golf on the North Shore and now will be teaching at the Wentworth Hills Country Club in Plainville.

Quiet your mind, refresh your body, and relieve stress with this class with this class led by Diane Lancaster, who has more than 20 years of experience in fitness instruction. Regardless of your physical condition or abilities, learn to increase strength and flexibility through positions, breath work, and mediation. The spring session is 12 week session.If you would like to just drop in to a class it is $12 per class.Class size is limited. Please bring your yoga mat and water.
 
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM    Field Hockey for Girls - Girls' Field Hockey
Coach Bordieri, led the Varsity team who won the 2018 Hockomock League championship as well as the 2016 Varsity team to a Hockomock League Championship as well as the 2016 State South Sectional championship will be teaching the sport of field hockey to newcomers, as well as returning players. Instruction will be offered in fundamentals of the game: dribbling, passing, driving, and shooting with small game play in which to apply those skills. This clinic is a great opportunity both to learn about the game and for returning players to continue to develop their game play and skills. Each player must have a mouth guard, eye protection, shin guards, cleats and a stick.

Add dimensions to your walking or jogging - do you like the idea of hiking but don't want to go alone?  Hiking is fantastic exercise as well as a great time to get some fresh air and explore new places. This class moves at a good pace - we'll be looking for hills! We will meet at various local locations every week (a list will be given out).   First meeting location: F. Gilbert Hills State Forest, Foxboro, Ma. From Norfolk center follow Rte. 115 south toward Foxboro. Stay on rte. 115 (crossing over route 1A at light) and turn left onto Pine Street. At lights turn right onto Route 1. Follow Route one for 1½ miles then turn left at lights on to Thurston Street. Follow Thurston for 1½ miles (pass Normandy Farms on your right).and turn left on to Mill Street. Follow Mill for approx. 9/10 of a mile (passing Chapel Meeting House on your right) parking lot on your right; across from main entrance.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a runner or running again after taking years off here is your opportunity!  This adult program is designed to get you off the couch or away from the desk and ready to run a 5K (3.1 miles).  In this 10 week program which is catered to beginners you will progress from a walker to a runner.  We will meet as a group once a week and you will be given specific instructions for running other days of the week on your own. Workouts will be followed with stretching and advice about running and nutrition.   Instructor: Nancy Cahalane; certified personal trainer / certified MIAA coach

Has your child always wanted to play an instrument? Join Lisa Cohen and learn the fundamentals of playing the UKULELE. No prior musical experience necessary! Children will learn basic chords, rhythms, and strums. Each participant must bring his/her own SOPRANO, CONCERT, or TENOR UKULELE. An electronic tuning device such as a Snark Tuner is also recommended. This program meets on 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, and 6/5 and is limited to the first 10 registered.

He has received numerous awards from NEPGA and a Top 100 Teachers Award for his instruction. Clinics consist of 4 one-hour lessons with each lesson focusing on a specific part of the game. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of swinging with irons and woods as well as pitching, chipping and putting. Barrie Bruce has over 30 years experience teaching golf on the North Shore and now will be teaching at the Wentworth Hills Country Club in Plainville.

Foxboro Recreation recognizes that the early years are an important time in a child's life. We offer a variety of quality programs at our recreation centers as well as a many great toddler/preschool programs. Class sizes are limited in order to give each participant the quality of attention you expect.  Activities will enhance socialization, assist in building self-confidence, and provide some educational experience. Our programs are all play based where children will participate in crafts, games, circle time, sharing, creative play, and other activities based on their age.The early childhood years from birth to age 5 is a critical time for developing many important language, physical, social, and emotional skills.Enrolling in early childhood programs gives young children opportunities to practice those key developmental skills. A sports class not only teaches gross motor skills like kicking a ball, but also important social skills like waiting your turn and sharing with others. Art classes are great opportunities to practice fine motor skills by using paint brushes crayons or markers and to use language by sharing ideas with others.All of our preschool and toddler programs are led by Renee and her caring, expert staff who understand early childhood development and design age-appropriate activities that ensure children have the best possible introduction to organized play. Our staff is skilled at easing the transition into participating independently.

Add dimensions to your walking or jogging - do you like the idea of hiking but don't want to go alone?  Hiking is fantastic exercise as well as a great time to get some fresh air and explore new places. This class moves at a good pace - we'll be looking for hills! We will meet at various local locations every week (a list will be given out).   First meeting location: F. Gilbert Hills State Forest, Foxboro, Ma. From Norfolk center follow Rte. 115 south toward Foxboro. Stay on rte. 115 (crossing over route 1A at light) and turn left onto Pine Street. At lights turn right onto Route 1. Follow Route one for 1½ miles then turn left at lights on to Thurston Street. Follow Thurston for 1½ miles (pass Normandy Farms on your right).and turn left on to Mill Street. Follow Mill for approx. 9/10 of a mile (passing Chapel Meeting House on your right) parking lot on your right; across from main entrance.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a runner or running again after taking years off here is your opportunity!  This adult program is designed to get you off the couch or away from the desk and ready to run a 5K (3.1 miles).  In this 10 week program which is catered to beginners you will progress from a walker to a runner.  We will meet as a group once a week and you will be given specific instructions for running other days of the week on your own. Workouts will be followed with stretching and advice about running and nutrition.   Instructor: Nancy Cahalane; certified personal trainer / certified MIAA coach

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM    Field Hockey for Girls - Girls' Field Hockey
Coach Bordieri, led the Varsity team who won the 2018 Hockomock League championship as well as the 2016 Varsity team to a Hockomock League Championship as well as the 2016 State South Sectional championship will be teaching the sport of field hockey to newcomers, as well as returning players. Instruction will be offered in fundamentals of the game: dribbling, passing, driving, and shooting with small game play in which to apply those skills. This clinic is a great opportunity both to learn about the game and for returning players to continue to develop their game play and skills. Each player must have a mouth guard, eye protection, shin guards, cleats and a stick.

Lizanne Donegan is a resident of Foxboro. For the past twenty-one years Lizanne has taught pottery to adults and children in the greater Boston area. Lizanne handcrafts her pottery at Potters Place in Walpole where she is a long-term member. She is delighted with the opportunity to share her knowledge and enthusiasm of clay with the community of Foxboro by offering classes to children this Fall.  Come have fun with clay! Children will learn to work with clay using hand-building techniques. Create imaginative and varied pieces like animals, sculptures, bowls, containers and many more.Students are encouraged to build on their skills by following class demonstration and developing ideas from their imagination. Children will decorate their work with colored underglazes and glaze
